Next to the polling stations at Sergels Torg in central Stockholm, Simona Mohamsson is giving her summer speech. This morning, another opinion poll was published showing that support for the Liberals is around 2 percent. Support needs to double for the party to reach the parliamentary threshold.
"I want to address those of you who want to maximize the effect of your vote and ensure that the blue-yellow team gets four more years. Without your support, Sweden risks going red to hell," says Mohamsson, warning of what could happen if the red-green side wins the election.
Attracts M voters
She is addressing everyone who wants a right-wing government, who likes bourgeois politics but who has not voted for the Liberals before, but perhaps for the Moderates.
"I urge you to invest in the Liberals this fall. I ask for your mandate to secure a right-wing government after the election," she says.
She emphasizes that without the Liberals there is no majority for a right-wing government.
The Liberals must be involved, otherwise the next prime minister will be Magdalena Andersson in a government with the Left Party and the Green Party, she says.
The Liberals are simply the safest card for election victory this fall.
Warns of left-wing government
The speech is a long appeal to wake up all potential L voters.
A few days ago, the opposite call came from SD leader Jimmie Åkesson. If L has not reached 3.5 percent in public opinion ten days before the election, he sees a vote for L as wasted and therefore urges all blue-yellow voters to vote for one of the other Tidö parties instead.
The alternative to a government with me, Ulf, Ebba and Jimmie is a red-green government that is soft on crime and nonchalant towards crime victims. The most left-leaning government Sweden has ever faced, says Mohamsson.
