The Moderate Party is demanding that the Social Democratic Party's leader Magdalena Andersson and party secretary Tobias Baudin resign due to the Gaming Inspectorate's decision to issue million fines to the party, reports Ekot.

It's that serious. It hasn't happened in Swedish politics that a party gets fined three million kronor, and then you can't just shift the blame. Then you have to take responsibility and make your place available, says The Moderate Party's party secretary Karin Enström to the radio channel.

The Gaming Inspectorate announced on Monday that S shall be fined three million kronor for having breached the Gaming Act in their operations with Kombispel.

Magdalena Andersson thinks that The Moderate Party's resignation play shows that they are desperate with sinking opinion figures and the turns around the national security advisers.

It's a party that has a few problems. It may not have been the best weeks for The Moderate Party, says she.

What was revealed about the lottery sales is not consistent with our values and therefore we reacted very forcefully. We kicked out the entire board, we kicked out the MD and we terminated the agreement with the supplier. We have also been clear that we should not engage in telemarketing. So we have acted.
