Former Climate Minister Isabella Lövin (Green party) will be the main responsible for a report from the EU Parliament on how the Baltic Sea can recover.

"I am very pleased to lead the EU Parliament's work to develop a new approach that can save the Baltic Sea, the cod and ensure a sustainable future for our vulnerable sea. We cannot continue with 'business as usual' with annual quota negotiations (on fishing)", Lövin welcomes in a comment via SMS.

The report will then be submitted to the EU's new Maritime and Fisheries Commissioner, Costas Kadis, who has been tasked with developing a new "ocean pact" for the EU.
