Two people have been taken to hospital by ambulance helicopter after a fire in a tent in the Gothenburg area. One of the persons, a woman, has life-threatening injuries.
The fire in Mölndal broke out during Thursday morning. A total of five adult persons were injured and in need of hospital care.
Totalt five people were camping in the forest in two separate tents, says police spokesperson Thomas Fuxborg.
The fire started in one of the tents where a man and a woman lived. Both have been taken to hospital by helicopter with severe burns. The woman has life-threatening injuries.
In the other tent, three men lived. They also have burns, but not as severe. They have been taken to hospital by ambulance.
The site will be cordoned off for a technical investigation and all persons will be questioned. The incident is being investigated as arson.
We cannot rule out that the fire was intentional, says Fuxborg.
In the morning, the rescue service is working on extinguishing and environmental safety, as there were batteries in the area, among other things.
