Minister of Defence Pål Jonson (The Moderate Party) is open to Ukraine starting to produce defence equipment on Swedish territory, writes DN. The statement follows the announcement that Ukraine and Denmark have entered into such an agreement.

”Similar setups are clearly interesting for Sweden's part. The government wants to deepen the defense industrial cooperation with Ukraine and has also urged Swedish defense companies to establish themselves in Ukraine”, says Jonson in a written statement to the magazine.

Jonson says further in the statement, which TT has taken part of, that an industry delegation traveled to Ukraine earlier this year to discuss possibilities for a deepened cooperation, and that ”many ideas for further cooperation are being explored”.

Ukrainian The Kyiv Independent reported on Friday that Ukraine and Denmark have entered into an agreement to allow Ukrainian defense manufacturers to open production facilities on Danish soil.

Ukraine's Minister of Defense Industry Herman Smetanin wrote on Facebook that it is the first time Ukrainian military technology is exported abroad specifically for production for the Ukrainian defense forces.
