The sale of electric cars increased by 25 percent in the world last year compared to 2023, according to figures from the British consulting firm Rho Motion.
The increase was not evenly distributed – China pulled up the figure with an increase of 40 percent, while sales in Europe fell by three percent. In the USA and Canada, nine percent more electric cars were sold.
Total, the number of sold electric cars, excluding plug-in hybrids, was approximately 17 million during the current period.
