The most popular pizza in Sweden is - you might have guessed it - kebabpizza! Both pizza and kebab are popular takeout foods in Sweden, which might explain why the kebabpizza has become so popular among us Swedes.
Swedish kebabpizza is a thin-crust pizza topped with kebab and kebab shop garlic sauce, and usually also lettuce, fefferoni peppers and of course, Swedish pizza salad.
It is not clear when or how the kebabpizza originated, but it seems to have originated when Swedish restaurants which were selling both kebab and pizza started to combine the two.
So despite there being nothing inherently Swedish about kebabpizza, with pizza coming from Italy and Kebab originating in Turkey, kebabpizza might be the most Swedish takeout there is!
