The country's EU minister János Bóka tones down the demands presented in an open letter from US President Donald Trump.
–Our American partners are very aware of the special situation for Hungary and Slovakia and are very understanding – in some cases even more than our European partners, says Bóka on his way to an EU minister meeting in Brussels on Tuesday.
Hungary and Slovakia have been heavily criticized by other EU countries for their continued use of Russian fossil fuels. But what Hungary pays is irrelevant, Bóka believes.
–It is not Hungary and Slovakia that are keeping Russia's war machine afloat, says the EU minister.
