The government is assigning the task to the National Board of Health and Welfare.

"All women have the right to safe care before, during and after childbirth. The care you receive should not be determined by where you live," Minister for Social Services Camilla Waltersson Grönwall (M) says in a press release.

Shortcomings have been identified, among other things, in home births.

The National Board of Health and Welfare will, among other things, carry out an information campaign on safe childbirth and existing knowledge support for care during pregnancy, childbirth and the period afterwards.

The information is primarily aimed at the regions and relevant professions.

The assignment must be completed by February 2028.
