Ford Cuts 1,000 Jobs at Cologne Factory Amid Weak Electric Car Demand

A weaker demand on the electric car market makes Ford now lay off 1,000 employees at its factory in German Cologne. The message follows after Ford last year announced cuts with 4,000 positions in Europe and then mainly in Germany.

The factory in Cologne produces an electric version of Ford's SUV model Explorer and will now from January next year go down to one shift from previously having two work shifts.
