The proportion of households that believe in rising housing prices is falling to 49 percent, which is a decrease of six units from last month according to SEB's Housing Price Indicator.

The proportion of households that believe in falling prices has increased by four units from the previous month and is now at 13 percent. The proportion that believes in unchanged prices is increasing by two units to 26 percent.

"An escalating trade war, worse economic prospects, and a very turbulent stock exchange are causing households to dampen their optimism about the housing market. It is still too early to say whether it is the beginning of a larger decline in the Housing Price Indicator, similar to the one we saw at the beginning of the pandemic and the outbreak of war in Ukraine, or only a correction of expectations", says SEB's private economist Américo Fernández in a press release.
