YouTube celebrity Christofer "Chrippa" Lundström is sentenced to two years and nine months in prison for several cases of serious economic crime.

Lundström is convicted of, among other things, gross accounting crimes, gross tax crimes, gross business money laundering, hindering tax control and gross promotion of illegal gambling. The latter is the first time Lundström has been convicted in Sweden.

He is also banned from holding a business for five years, while being forced to pay almost 900,000 kronor in forfeited proceeds of crime. According to the verdict, he must also pay tax surcharges of over one million kronor – in addition to the 2.6 million kronor he will be liable to pay for his unreported income.

"We'll see, life is life, we'll see what the Court of Appeal says," he writes on Instagram.

I have spoken to Christofer about the whole thing and he is of course disappointed, but still strong and calm about this and is looking forward and hoping for another trial in the Court of Appeal, says Lundström's lawyer Johan Ritzer to TT.

However, it was a positive thing that the sentence was considerably milder than the one the prosecutor requested, which was three and a half years.

According to the verdict, the influencer earned millions of kronor from his activities between 2021 and 2024 – but without accounting and without reporting his income to the Swedish Tax Agency.

The activity has also consisted of Lundström advertising online casinos that lack a Swedish gaming license and are therefore not allowed to target a Swedish audience. This was done by live broadcasting via the Twitch and Kick platforms when he himself plays.

Lundström is the half-brother of YouTube star Joakim Lundell, who testified against his brother during the trial.

Three more people close to Lundström have been charged with corporate money laundering in the same case. Two of them were sentenced to suspended sentences and probation, respectively, and one of them was acquitted.
