Caution on Asian Stock Exchanges

The development pointed in different directions when the trading week began on Asia's stock exchanges.

In Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 index stood at plus 0.3 percent when investors took lunch, while the broader Topix index fluctuated around zero.

In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng was simultaneously down 0.3 percent, and in Shanghai and Shenzhen, the composite indexes stood at plus 0.6 and 2.1 percent, respectively.
