Three manufacturers of classic car batteries receive EU fines for long-term cartel activities.

The companies Exide, Fet and Rombat will be fined a total of SEK 790 million for having violated EU competition rules for a long time.

"We have zero tolerance for price fixing and other forms of cartels," writes EU Competition Commissioner Teresa Ribera in a press release.

The companies are accused of having fixed prices with the help of the market organization Eurobat from at least 2005 to 2017. A fourth company, Clarios, is exempt from fines after cooperating with the investigators.
