The Västanträsk ski was found in 1947, 80 centimeters below ground. Visit Sweden describes it as a millennium-old and one of the country’s best-preserved ancient skis. There are two places to visit: the find site and a full-sized replica at Västanträsk community center.

The replica is displayed at the community center from May to September and is kept indoors in winter. To reach the center, enter the village from the north on road 364, near the hockey exhibition; a sign points the way. The replica’s glass case is at 64.45355856552257, 20.398395239092185.

The find site is 1 km north of Västanträsk and 300 meters southeast of road 364, near Bygdeträsket. Follow the sign to the designated parking area, then walk 300 meters from the road down the field toward the lake and into a birch forest along a path. There is a picnic table by the path.
