Skellefteå Museum is in the main building at Nordanå. Its exhibitions cover local history and cultural heritage, from ancient artefacts to contemporary art. Visit Sweden says the collection holds about 75,000 objects, and that the museum runs programmes for children and adults.

Museum Anna Nordlander is part of the museum and holds exhibitions at Sara Kulturhus. Its focus includes contemporary art and gender issues. At Nordanå, Forskarrum Nordanå is a meeting place for local-history research and storytelling, run by Skellefteå Museum together with two regional archives.

The grounds also have historic buildings and structures marked as always open outdoors. The Östra stolpboden, a storehouse built in 1726, is described by the museum as Nordanå’s oldest building. Kågegården is a timber farmhouse dating from the 18th century; the museum usually opens it in summer. Nearby, Lanthandeln is a café with a small shop in an outbuilding dating from 1867.
