Exploratoriet is a science centre at Nordanå in Skellefteå. Its exhibition area covers about 800 square metres and is housed in a former sports hall from the 1940s. Interactive exhibits cover physics, chemistry, technology, astronomy and ecology. Children and young people can experiment with science through hands-on, creative activities, and families can explore the exhibits together.

The centre also offers workshops in programming and technology, themed parties for children, conference rooms for businesses and a shop selling scientific toys. Schools in Skellefteå municipality can take part in free school programmes.

Exploratoriet’s website says the centre turns 10 in 2026, with an anniversary weekend planned for 12–13 December. That is still ahead this week. The website also lists a three-year initiative focused on wood processing with Trä- och Möbelföretagen (TMF), Sparbanken Nord and Exploratoriet. Another project, supported by Interreg, links art and culture with nature.
