Skansen’s Aquarium is at Skansen in Stockholm. Its 3,000 square metres contain hundreds of individual animals, including rare and endangered species shown in settings described as their natural environment. The aquarium says it is one of the country’s zoos with the most animals, despite its small area. Visit Stockholm names saki monkeys, giant iguanas, yellow-beaked toucans, crocodiles and pygmy marmosets among the animals visitors may see. The aquarium says the animals on display can change with the season, illness or temporary moves, so the current selection may differ from its website.

A guided tour takes visitors through what the aquarium calls Stockholm’s own jungle. Keeper-led animal encounters let visitors get close to animals and feed them. The aquarium also opens after it closes to regular visitors for private evening events booked by groups and businesses.

The venue’s information does not give a public ticket price or regular opening hours. Visit Stockholm lists the location as Djurgårdsslätten 49–51, Stockholm, 115 21, and gives the phone number +46 (0)8 666 1000. No visit duration is specified.

Good to know
