Pottery wheel throwing at Drejeriet is a self-directed session for people who have thrown before and know what they want to do, as well as those curious to try the wheel. There is no instructor during the session, but staff are on site and give a short introduction to the basics. For more thorough teaching, Drejeriet directs visitors to its workshops or courses.
Each session includes access to a pottery wheel for two and a half hours and five types of clay, which visitors pay for at the studio. Firing of the pieces made during the session is included. Visitors trim and glaze their work themselves on separate occasions. The session can be used to practise a particular technique or simply to throw at a pace that suits the visitor.
