Colour! is a sensory exhibition for children aged 6–12 and accompanying adults, inviting visitors to explore what colour is, where it comes from and how it feels. Children can put on a lab coat and colour goggles before stepping through a colour portal. In the exhibition’s rooms, visitors use their senses and whole bodies to investigate colour, including materials used to make it, from sparkling minerals to dried insects. One room is a small museum that has lost its colour; elsewhere, the exhibition explores the energy of yellow, the calm of blue and the rainbow hidden in white light.
The exhibition is open for drop-in visits on weekends and school holidays. On weekdays from Tuesday to Friday, schools can book a guided tour paired with a colour workshop. One adult may accompany up to three children. The exhibition is on the ground floor, to the right of the museum shop.
