The Edible Country turns a meal into an outdoor cooking experience at Gunnebo, in Mölndal, about 15 minutes from Gothenburg. Guests use local ingredients found in Swedish nature and recipes created by four Michelin chefs. Gunnebo sits between two lakes and among woodland, within a 100-hectare cultural reserve that includes historic buildings, gardens and an organic growing area.

You can cook the meal yourself, or arrange help from a local guide, a ready-made basket of ingredients, or food prepared and served for you. The related Drinkable Country concept offers recipes from Swedish drinks experts, using ready-made local drinks and ingredients from the surrounding area. Gunnebo’s own site lists its Kaffehus and Krog, a separate restaurant and café, as open daily from 11:00 to 16:00. It lists closures on 30 November, 24, 25 and 31 December, and 1 January.
