At Göteborgs Spårvagnsmuseum, visitors can trace Gothenburg’s tram history inside the old tram depot in Gårda. The museum is run on a voluntary basis by Spårvägssällskapet Ringlinien. Its exhibitions cover tram fares through the ages, uniforms from the early 1900s to the 1970s, and historical photographs of the museum trams on display. A tram simulator has a driver’s console from the 1950s.
The entrance ticket includes a guided tour of the depot, where trams from different periods are displayed. The vehicles range from a preserved horse-drawn tram to those that operated on the Angeredsbanan line from 1969 onward. The depot was built in 1930 and is distinct from a newer facility nearby. Visit Sweden says the museum is open on Sundays. The visit brings together indoor exhibitions, the simulator and the depot tour, with its vehicles and the history they represent. The ticket includes the tour, so visitors can see the depot collection as part of their museum visit.
