The German Church, called Tyska kyrkan in Swedish, is the church of Gothenburg’s German congregation, which welcomes visitors. The congregation says it welcomes people in their differences. The church is open year-round for prayer and visits: Tuesday to Friday, noon to 4pm; Saturday, 11am to 3pm; Sunday, 10am to 2pm.

Visitors can go in during those hours for a visit or a moment of prayer. The congregation lists worship, concerts and other events in the Kyrkguiden app, which is free and available for iPhone and Android. The app includes a calendar, so check it for services or events during your stay. The website also lists a church café.

The congregation’s anniversary book covers 400 years of the German Christian congregation in Gothenburg and comes in German and Swedish editions. The congregation’s current newsletter is available in the church, and it also links to earlier issues online. The regular opening hours apply throughout the year, making a visit possible in any season.
