Fängelset is a DIY venue in Gothenburg where organizers put on concerts and performances. The organizers are young, and the programme brings together local acts with artists and stage expressions from elsewhere in Sweden and abroad. The venue gives subculture a place on stage, and audiences can discover new and established music, including artists before they reach bigger stages.

Klubb Impuls is one of the organizers that hosts concerts at Fängelset. It is a gender-equal music club and one of Gothenburg’s foremost stages for innovative young jazz and improvisational music.

The name comes from Härlanda Central Prison, built on the site in the early 20th century. The prison followed a 19th-century model recognizable from American examples such as San Quentin and Alcatraz. The space now used for the big stage once held the district court. The venue’s programme is centered on live music and performance, but the material gives no specific event dates, prices or visit length.
