Annedalskyrkan is a church in Gothenburg’s Annedal neighbourhood, designed by Theodor Wåhlin and inaugurated in 1910. Wikidata records its opening as 1908 and identifies it as heritage-listed. The building is made of brick, with granite details around its windows, doors, gables and corners.
The chancel sits at the south end of the church. That differs from the usual Swedish arrangement, in which the chancel typically faces east. The church has seating for up to 1,000 people. Its uses include services and school ceremonies, as well as occasional concerts and other cultural events. Concerts may be small or large, and the church also hosts other cultural events.
For a visitor, the architecture can be seen in the brick construction and the granite detailing around the openings and exterior corners. The south-facing chancel is another feature to notice. A ramp, an accessible toilet and a hearing loop are listed among its access provisions. The church’s capacity is up to 1,000 seats, for services, ceremonies and cultural events in the building.
