Rönnskär is a small island with a hostel in two buildings, Lotsstugan and Vita huset. The hostel has 11 rooms and 27 beds. The old pilot lookout has a sitting room at the top, while the island’s other links to its past include its history of pilots, customs officers and fishers.

Guests can swim, fish, use the wood-fired sauna and relax area beside the water, or rent a kayak, double kayak or stand-up paddleboard. A rowing boat is also available to borrow. The hostel has shared kitchens, a barbecue area and a guest pier. It is self-catering: bring food, drinkable water, bed linen and towels, and clean your room and shared spaces before leaving.

The listed season is May to October, so November is outside it. The usual boat-taxi departures listed are from Stenö guest harbour on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 11:00, with the return from Rönnskär at 12:00. The crossing takes about 30 minutes. A one-way ticket costs 150 SEK (about US$15.0) for an adult and 75 SEK (about US$7.50) for a child aged 0–12. The boat taxi is booked with the hostel stay. Free parking is available at Stenö sea bath and camping.
