Sara Skyttedal

Sara Magdalena Skyttedal, born August 6, 1986, in Tyresö, is a Swedish politician and former member of the Christian Democrats (KD). Since July 2019, she has been a member of the European Parliament, where she is part of the European People's Party (EPP) group. Skyttedal has held several prominent political roles, including chairperson of the Christian Democratic Youth Association (KDU) between 2013 and 2016, and municipal councilor in Linköping from 2016 to 2019.

In the European Parliament, Skyttedal is the chairperson of the Iraq Delegation and sits on several committees, including the Committee on Industry, Research, and Energy (ITRE) and the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice, and Home Affairs (LIBE). She has driven issues such as energy policy, migration policy, and European defense cooperation.

In February 2024, she left the Christian Democrats and became an independent politician. In April of the same year, she launched the new party Folklistan and is running for the 2024 European Parliament election. Skyttedal is also known for her controversial statements, including those on flying and drug use, as well as her criticism of the January Agreement and migration policy.
