Twenty people with varying degrees of fame are moving into Häringe Castle to try to figure out who are the "traitors" and who are the "loyal ones".
Among the contestants are people like Maria Montazami, Björn Hellberg, Sara Skyttedal, and Henrik Fexeus, who says that his reputation as a mentalist might even be a hindrance in the game.
It usually doesn't go well for those who claim to be very good at reading people. But I was aware of that, that it was about being cautious.
"Will surprise"
When the first episode was broadcast on linear TV on Thursday evening, TV4 gathered the participants for a mingle with cheese, snacks – and the first episode on the big screen.
Dragomir Mrsic is the one who guides the participants through the different stages with a gentle hand. He thinks that the program format has been fine-tuned so that it's now sharper than ever.
I think this season will surprise the viewers. We've had two seasons to calibrate, but it's the players who decide. This year, they were synchronized in a way that made the game a bit faster and more exciting.
Sara Skyttedal hadn't seen the first two seasons when she was asked to participate. The experience itself during the recording reminded her of political life – on speed.
It's 15 years of political drama condensed into a few days. I tried to go in with the attitude that it was light TV entertainment, but it was hard not to get caught up.
Do you think you had an advantage because you're a politician?
Both yes and no. All those years of training in argumentation and winning trust were an advantage. On the other hand, the initial suspicions were directed at me, precisely because many people think you can't trust politicians.
Adapt
Henrik Fexeus says that the game is much harder than it appears on TV. A major challenge is that the participants aren't allowed to interact between takes.
It may look like we're running around the castle and talking to each other all day. But outside of recording, we have blindfolds and earplugs. The camera team wears masks so we can't talk to them. Everyone is totally paranoid, he says.
Dragomir Mrsic says that the hardest thing as a player is to adapt.
It doesn't work to just lie low or take up space. You have to adapt, according to each specific situation, especially if you're a traitor.
