Sweden increases support to Syria

After the recent dramatic developments in Syria, Sida is increasing Swedish aid to the country by an additional 20 million kronor. "The situation in Syria is developing incredibly quickly, which has led to many people having new needs for humanitarian support, in what was already one of the world's most severe humanitarian crises", says Jakob Wernerman, head of Sida's humanitarian aid, in a press release.

Sweden is providing additional support of SEK 182 million to severely affected people in six countries: Afghanistan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Yemen, Myanmar, and Sudan. .
