A quake with an estimated magnitude of 7.7 struck Southeast Asia on Friday morning, Swedish time. The US Geological Survey fears thousands of fatalities.
The worst damage after the earthquake is feared in conflict-ridden and junta-ruled Myanmar. The quake's center was located in the country's central parts, at a depth of ten kilometers near the million-city Mandalay.
