It will not be an Olympic Games for Elaine Thompson-Herah – who took gold in both the 100 metres and the 200 metres at the Olympic Games in Rio 2016 and in Tokyo 2021, writes the Jamaican star in a post published on social media. As recently as last week, Thompson-Herah announced that she would not be competing in the 200 metres in order to focus all her energy on the 100 metres instead.
