The Supreme Court will not take up the case over the 2021 death of five-year-old John Walter at an HVB home in Hagfors. The parents are now taking their case to the European Court of Justice to seek justice against Falu Municipality.
SwedenJonathan Ravelin, who sued the state after being wrongly declared dead, will not receive any damages according to a verdict in the Stockholm District Court. The verdict will be appealed.
SwedenA paper form and a false signature were enough for Jonathan Ravelin to be incorrectly declared dead. With the help of the Center for Justice, he sued the state – and now he hopes that the court will establish that the Tax Authority's checks are not sufficient. The whole idea is that this should not affect anyone else, he says.
SwedenWho bears the responsibility for John Walter, five, being able to escape from a foster home and drown? According to the parents, it is Falu municipality, which decided to place the boy at the accommodation despite the deficiencies there. The matter is now being tried in the Court of Appeal. I think about him every day, says father Hans-Erik Sjöholm.
