Alarming Number of Pregnant Women Die in Darfur

A "shockingly large" number of newborns, pregnant women, and new mothers are dying in southern Darfur in Sudan, reports Doctors Without Borders. Most of the deaths could have been avoided – "but almost nothing works here anymore", says doctor Gillian Burkhardt in a report.
