French-German pressure on Syria's new leader
France's Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot and his German counterpart Annalena Baerbock are visiting Syria's capital Damascus. The goal was a meeting with the country's new leader Ahmed al-Sharaa, who led the overthrow of dictator Bashar al-Assad's regime in December.
