The Police Contact Centre, PKC, has received several calls from anxious individuals who claim to have received emails/SMS from the police.

The complainant has received a message urging them to pay traffic fines to the Police Authority and that the sender has sent a link. The scammer wants the person to click further on the link and complete a transaction, the sender comes from different email accounts.

The messages are false and sent by scammers. The police strongly advise against clicking on the link.

The police do not send SMS/messages of this kind. The police use letters or KIVRA if you seek contact with a private individual.
