The Police Contact Centre, PKC, has received several calls from anxious individuals who claim to have received e-mails/SMS from the police.

The complainant has received a message urging them to pay traffic fines to the Police Authority and that the sender has attached a link. The scammer wants them to click on the link and complete a transaction, the sender comes from different e-mail accounts.

The messages are false and sent by scammers. The police strongly advise against clicking on the link. 

The police do not send SMS/messages like these. The police use letters or KIVRA if they want to contact a private individual.
