"For us, security guarantees are, first and foremost, guarantees of security from the United States. The document is 100 percent ready and we are waiting for our partners to confirm when and where we will sign it," Zelenskyy said at a press conference in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius.
He added that after it is signed, the document is expected to be sent to the US Congress and the Ukrainian Parliament for ratification.
As recently as Thursday, Zelenskyy said that Ukraine still lacks sufficient security guarantees from the United States.
The president also highlighted that Ukraine is pushing to become a member of the EU as early as 2027 and described it as an "economic security guarantee."
The statements follow talks between Russia, Ukraine and the United States in the United Arab Emirates capital Abu Dhabi over the weekend. The United States has described it as a “big step” that the parties have discussed directly with each other.
However, Zelenskyy noted that the fundamental disagreement over territory remains.
Ukraine's territorial integrity must be respected, he said.
