Hanna Nilsson, senior prosecutor at the Swedish Economic Crime Agency, says Lundström has previously violated the travel ban on two occasions, one of which involved Lundström leaving the country.
"I therefore assess that there is a concrete danger of flight and a risk of continued crime, and I note that the Court of Appeal followed my position," the prosecutor says in a press release.
"Chrippa" caps
The prosecutor has pointed to a website where "Chrippa" caps and video greetings were sold, despite his business ban. According to his lawyer Johan Ritzer, Lundström has not sold anything himself, but has entered into an employment contract.
He has tried to arrange a fully legal livelihood for himself, he says.
The prosecutor said that the company acted as a front, reports Aftonbladet.
Ritzer has not had time to talk to Lundström since Lundström was detained.
But he is disappointed, and we will see how we handle this decision going forward now, says Ritzer.
Wants to be free
Lundström was sentenced in December to two years and nine months in prison for several cases of serious economic crime.
Both Lundström and the prosecutor appealed the verdict to the Göta Court of Appeal. Lundström wants to be acquitted, while the prosecutor wants to increase the sentence.
Lundström is the half-brother of YouTube star Joakim Lundell, who also testified against his brother during the trial.
According to the district court's ruling, Lundström earned millions of kronor from his business between 2021 and 2024 - but without accounting and without reporting his income to the Swedish Tax Agency. Among other things, Lundström was convicted of gross accounting fraud, gross tax fraud, gross business money laundering and gross promotion of illegal gambling.
