With just over a day left before the transfer window closes at eight on Monday evening, the speculation in England about Alexander Isak - and his potential replacement - continues.
Brentford player Yoane Wissa has been clear about his frustration towards his club, which earlier in the summer rejected an offer from Isak's Newcastle. The striker deleted all Instagram posts related to Brentford last week and is now taking it a step further.
"I appeal to Brentford's owners and board to keep what they have promised and let me leave during the last hours of this transfer window", Wissa writes in a lengthy statement on social media.
Wissa writes in his statement that he was given a promise that Brentford "would not stand in the way" if a reasonable offer for the player came in. But that the club has now changed its mind.
Newcastle, in turn, has refused to let Alexander Isak go to Premier League competitor Liverpool, but it has been speculated in British media that a purchase of Yoane Wissa could facilitate that deal. Newcastle also made it clear with the German striker Nick Woltemade over the weekend.
British newspaper The Telegraph reported on Saturday that Liverpool is preparing a new bid for the Swedish attacking star, who has refused to train or play with his club recently.
