Alarms about a serious train accident at Kagerup in northern Zealand came at 6:30 on Thursday morning.
It involves a head-on collision between two trains on a local train route between Hillerød and Kagerup.
At a press conference this morning, it was announced that 17 people had been taken to hospital, five of whom were seriously injured. There is no information about any injured Swedes.
In total, there were about 40 passengers on board the trains.
It is still unclear what caused the accident. The route is single-track, which means that train meetings can only take place at stations.
The Danish Accident Investigation Board is on site and investigating the scene.
