However, she is not upset by Aftonbladet's picture of KD leader Ebba Busch and Center Party leader Elisabeth Thand Ringqvist leaving the sauna together.

Gabrielsson expects that the Center Party will not be able to form a government with S, MP, C, KD and L in order to avoid having V in government.

The Center Party has no other option - even if its members attend sauna events - than to govern with us, as things stand now, says Gabrielsson.

Not in the same room

The party leaderships of S, MP, C and V have not yet sat in the same room to discuss government cooperation. The reason is that V is demanding ministerial posts in a red-green government, while the Center Party will not accept a government that includes V.

But C has invited the four parties to a meeting at a conference hotel on Lidingö on Friday. The aim is reportedly for the parties to form a shared understanding of the challenges facing Sweden.

Gabrielsson points out that only the red-green parties want to see S leader Magdalena Andersson as Sweden's next prime minister. She expects KD and L not to change their minds about supporting a Social Democratic prime minister.

It's not possible - L and KD have been very clear, says Gabrielsson.

Gabrielsson: "A pity"

In Stockholm County, however, S has begun negotiations with KD and L on cooperation.

It's a shame that people choose that path, says Gabrielsson.

But at the national level, all Tidö parties have been very clear that they do not want Magdalena Andersson as their prime ministerial candidate.

Expectations for the red-green parties' Friday meeting are low. But it is seen as progress even if they achieve only a shared understanding of the situation.

V also considers it a success that C can be in the same room as V.

You might feel that it wasn't that dangerous, says Gabrielsson.

No family photo

During the four-hour meeting, representatives of nine organizations and authorities will each spend 20 minutes describing Sweden's societal challenges. After that, each party will have the opportunity to share its own reflections.

No joint press conference or photo opportunity with the party leaders is planned.

Magdalena Andersson will report to the Speaker of the Riksdag (the Swedish parliament) on Monday on how efforts to achieve government cooperation are going.

Gabrielsson does not believe that a government agreement will be finalized next week. She thinks Andersson should increase the pressure on C to accept V.

"If I had had the exploratory mission, I might have gone out and said that I would like to have a four-party government," says Gabrielsson.
