The pavilion contains a shop, entrance ticket office and café, and functions as a new entrance to the Linnaeus Garden. The building, designed by Hidemark & Stintzing Architects, has also previously won Uppsala Municipality's architecture prize.
"Refraining from using grand architectural gestures at this location demonstrates true professionalism", emphasizes the jury, which also praises the skilled craftsmanship and functionality.
The Kasper Salin Prize, which is the country's oldest and most well-known architecture prize, has been awarded since 1962. Behind the prize is the Swedish Architects.
The trade organization also awards several other prizes, including the Plan Prize, which goes to Varvsstaden in Malmö, and the Landmark Prize, which goes to Järva Cemetery.
