The French gaming giant Ubisoft had hoped that the launch of the latest part of the game series "Assassin's Creed" would save them from red figures – it didn't.
The company announces that it will make a net loss of 159 million euros during the years 2024-2025.
"It has been a tough year for Ubisoft with hard competition within the industry", says the company's CEO Yves Guillemot in a statement.
The gaming giant is now working on a restructuring, which will be presented at the end of the year.
The news comes just a few weeks after the company went out with that it is founding a new subsidiary for its most popular games – backed by an investment of 1.25 billion dollars from the Chinese tech giant Tencent.
