He made a name for himself as Tusse, but now that he's releasing new music, the Melodifestivalen winner is choosing to revert to his real name - Toussaint.

When the single "Motherland" is released today, it will be under the name Toussaint Chiza. It is the first single from the album "It Takes a Village to Love a Child", which will be released this spring.

While working on the album, Toussaint Chiza returned to his homeland, the Congo, after 18 years in exile. The visit brought back memories that are reflected in the music, which is described as a musical journey.

"I started thinking back to memories of Africa, how we played football in the heat and ran around in the mud. I sat down behind the piano and started writing," he says in a press release.

Toussaint Chiza won Melodifestivalen 2021 with the song "Voices" after winning "Idol" on TV4 two years earlier.

CORRECTED: There was an error in a previous version. The correct version is that Tusse won "Idol" on TV4 in 2019.
