Turkey knocked out Sweden in the round of 16. Then they cleaned up Poland in the quarterfinals. There were many who thought that Greece in the semifinals would be a much tougher task.
But Greece with the Antetokounmpo brothers in top form did not get it at all during the semifinals.
Turkey led the match from start to finish, led by the somewhat anonymous Ercan Osmani, who has averaged around ten points per match so far during the tournament.
Osmani accounted for 28 Turkish points and together with the stars Alperen Sengun and Shane Larkin, the team sometimes had a field day with the Greek defense.
The final will be played on Sunday and now the gold favorite Germany is waiting for Turkey.
For Greece's part, a bronze match against Finland is waiting. That will also be played on Sunday.
Turkey has a World Championship silver from 2010 and a European Championship silver from 2001 as the country's greatest basketball achievements.
