The government has appointed an inquiry into special legislation for gang criminals. This includes red-flagging actors linked to gang crime from, among other things, welfare systems and positions in companies.
But that is not enough, according to Justice Minister Gunnar Strömmer (M), Henrik Vinge (SD), chairman of the Justice Committee, Christian Carlsson (KD), chairman of the Social Affairs Committee, and Martin Melin (L), legal policy spokesperson.
"In recent years, we have seen how people with a criminal background have in some cases been able to build careers and earn big money by portraying their own criminality," they write on Aftonbladet's debate page, mentioning music, books, documentaries "and other commercial contexts."
The investigator must therefore see how such income can go to victims of crime.
The Tidö parties also want to see tougher penalties for serious economic crimes and stronger sanctions against companies that are used as criminal tools.
