Basically, both L and KD think the decision was good. M will allow SD into a possible post-election government, which means that a united team is pitted against a divided left wing, according to the Tidöpartierna.
But irritation is growing over Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) promising to give responsibility for migration and integration to the SD. The M leader did not want to say that the SD would get that particular ministerial post, but that is how everyone interpreted the announcement, according to several sources that TT spoke to.
In exchange, SD leader Jimmie Åkesson will accept Kristersson as the candidate for prime minister.
Wanted all four
Negotiations between M and SD have been ongoing for some time, and at a later stage both KD and most recently L have been involved.
The Moderates wanted both KD and L to attend the press conference with Åkesson, but they declined.
"L and KD did not want to do it without being allowed to be part of the negotiations or getting something in exchange. There is strong criticism from both L and KD that M has given away a strong negotiating card before the election," a source told TT.
Liberal party leader Simona Mohamsson holds the post of Minister of Integration today, and the fact that M is promising to take it away is "provocative", according to an L source.
KD leader Ebba Busch was also quick to criticize the deal.
There are five months left until the election. Why should we start exchanging currencies for various things that we don't need to settle now? said a powerful source within KD.
The person emphasizes that the balance of power between the parties is determined by the voters and negotiations should take place in the correct order.
The Christian Democrats have become more expensive.
Preparing
The agreement between M and SD also meant that all four Tidö parties would sit in a government.
There is strength in a majority government, but I think that argument is only partially valid, because it's not as if this government hasn't been proactive.
It is not certain that there will be four parties, said the KD source.
At the same time, the party is preparing for what would happen if the Liberals were to leave or the Tidö parties do not secure their own majority.
We have our team, the starting point is to work with that team, but in scenarios where we don't have a parliamentary majority - we won't say no to going to meetings, so to speak.
