The fresh figures that DN has taken part of come from Sweden's municipalities and regions, SKR.
In Västerbotten, there were over 1,000 children waiting for help, and only ten percent of them got a first meeting with bup within 30 days. That figure is the worst in the country.
DN writes that the problems with bup in region Västerbotten have been highlighted in an examination of complaints to the patient board between January 2023 and June 2024.
In the report, parents testify, among other things, about long waiting times and how the lack of help has affected school attendance.
We know what's in the complaints and if we've seen patterns in them, we do something about it. We're not sitting and waiting for a report from the patient board, says Kerstin Eliasson, operations manager at Västerbotten's child and youth psychiatry, to DN.
According to Eliasson, a number of measures have been implemented, including extended phone hours. Furthermore, temporary psychologists have been hired who can perform parts of the investigations.
