The German metalworkers' union and employers have agreed on a new collective agreement for the next two years.

Next year, the agreement means that wages will increase by relatively moderate 2.0 percent. On top of that, there will be a one-time payment of 600 euros, approximately 7,000 kronor.

In 2026, wages will increase by 3.1 percent.

The size of German wage increases is often used by the parties in the Swedish collective bargaining process since Germany is an important competitor nation for the Swedish export industry.
