Forsling, 28, was missing from Tre Kronor's premiere training on Monday and the message then was that he needed a day off.
At Tuesday's training in Bell Centre, Forsling, one of the big heroes when Florida won the Stanley Cup last season, was paired with Rasmus Dahlin as a defensive duo.
Fantastically fun. Dahlin is so skilled, so smart, and skates extremely well, so we'll fit well together, says Forsling.
Already on Wednesday – night to Thursday Swedish time – the meeting with the home nation and star-studded Canada awaits in front of enthusiastic spectators in Bell Centre.
I think we'll come together well as a group and work hard for each other. I think we have extremely many good players who are at least as good as Canada's. If we get the defense together, I think the offense will take care of itself, says Forsling.
He won over Canadian superstar Connor McDavid, Edmonton, in the Stanley Cup finals.
So how do you stop the speed wonder again?
It's not possible to slow him down, it's about being on the right side of the puck and him and as close as possible, says the Florida defenseman.
He's looking forward to the match.
It's going to be really fun to meet Canada, they have a lot of skill and will be a good challenge.
Sweden trained with all players on Tuesday and it looks like Rasmus Andersson, Calgary, will be the seventh defenseman and Leo Carlsson, Anaheim, will be the 13th forward.
